ACT SURFBOARD TECHNOLOGY
Rusty's ACT construction typically offers strength, lightweight and value for money - three crucial factors that are often seen as a compromise. The Rusty ACT shortboard features three layers of fibre on the deck and a 6oz rail tape in the tail. On the bottom is a 6oz + 4oz lay-up, complemented by UD carbon strips on the top and bottom. Interestingly, despite this structure, the weight remains comparable to a lightly glazed PU board.
However, the standout feature is the impressive responsiveness of these boards. The feeling when surfing with these boards is unique as they are extremely responsive. The unrestricted flex and low weight ensure that all the energy you transfer through your foot movements is directly translated into the turn without the "dampening" effect of the resin.
TEC - TORQ EPOXY COMPOSITE SURFBOARD TECHNOLOGY
Torq Epoxy Composite offers performance shapes in our modern epoxy lamination. These boards offer the best balance between lightness and durability. Our unique lamination process allows us to use a very strong 6oz and 4oz fibreglass layup in a 3-ply topsheet and 2-ply base (with a 4-ply rail overlap) with a high density EPS foam and still achieve a board weight comparable to a lighter fibreglass layup.
The result is a light but very stable board with good flexing characteristics and, as with all Torq boards, excellent value for money.
The TEC shortboards have 2 full layers of fibreglass over the deck and bottom. On the deck we also use a 6oz deck patch which provides a triple layer of protection against dents but does not affect the flex along the rail. The addition of a carbon filament stringer and UD carbon twin layers on the base makes these boards extra bouncy and responsive.
The Dwart shortboard from Rusty is the flying carpet surfboard.
The Rusty Dwart shortboard literally seems to float above the water, or rather, it glides effortlessly over it. With easy paddling, high speed, effortless planing and vertical surfing with impressive lip blasts, this surfboard combines all the essential elements in a single package. The Dwart takes the basic principles of a modern fish and combines them with powerful design techniques to take the surfing experience to a new level. If you're looking for a board that does it all, the Dwart is the best yet.
